Zaire Wade, Dwyane Wade's Son, Ranked Among Nation's Top Fifth-Grade Players [VIDEO]

Forget where he now rates among the NBA’s best players. Soon, Dwyane Wade might not even be the best player in his own house.

Zaire Wade, the Miami Heat star guard’s 10-year-old son, is quickly making a name for himself on the hoops’ scene. According to Yahoo! Sports, City League Hoops recently tabbed him as one of the nation’s top fifth-grade players.  The website also reports the young Wade “completely tore apart the competition” at a recent Future Camp held by former NBA player John Lucas.

Yahoo! lists the strengths of his game as “plenty of the athletic gifts of his father” and “a similar first step on his cuts to the basket.”

Zaire Wade reportedly has also shown a knack for leadership, taking over scrimmages and practices in the same spirit and fashion his father has exhibited over the course of his Hall of Fame bound career.

Led by Wade and four-time league MVP LeBron James, the Heat recently clinched their second straight NBA title in a thrilling seven-game series win over San Antonio. Overall, it marked the third title for Wade and forever cemented his legacy in South Beach.

Troubled throughout the playoffs by lingering knee issues, team officials have since revealed the gritty star had to have his knee drained prior to his 23 point, 10 rebounds effort in Game 7.
