Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the St. Louis Blues (40-18-5, 85 points) and Philadelphia Flyers (27-25-12, 66 points) face-off for the first of two meetings this season live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

St. Louis has won two of three games to start a five-match road trip while Philadelphia has dropped three of its last four and split the first two contests of a four-game home stand.

The Blues enter play in second place in the Central Division, four points clear of the third place Chicago Blackhawks (81) and four points ahead of the first place Nashville Predators (89).

Philadelphia is in search of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, but trails the Boston Bruins (71) by five points for the eighth seed while the Ottawa Senators (67) and Florida Panthers (69) are also in front of them.

St. Louis hosts Philadelphia exactly one week from tonight on March 12 in their final meeting this season.

The Blues are coming in off of a 6-5 shootout loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday that snapped a two-game winning streak.

Vladimir Tarasenko leads St. Louis with 61 points this season and ranks fifth in the NHL with 31 goals while Alex Steen has 19 tallies and 32 helpers to rank second on the Blues with 51 points.

The Flyers enter play off of a 3-2 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

Jakub Voracek paces Philadelphia and is tied for second in the league with 67 points while ranking second in the NHL with 46 assists. Captain Claude Giroux is tied for fifth in the league with 42 helpers and ranks second on the Flyers with 60 points this season.

In between the pipes, Philadelphia turns to Steve Mason and he is 12-13-8 with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.

St. Louis counters with Brian Elliott in the crease and he is 20-9-2 with a 2.20 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
