Well, Peyton Manning will officially be back with the Denver Broncos in 2015. It was believed that the two sides were in agreement about Manning's future and that they were just ironing out the details of his contract for the upcoming season.

According to ESPN, Manning will take a $4 million pay cut in 2015, and that money should allow the team to retain some of their other key players.

"I don't talk about my contract. I never have in 18 years and I'm not going to start now," Manning told the Denver Post Wednesday afternoon. "I've been working real hard and I'm excited to be back with the Denver Broncos. Can't wait for April 13 to get here when the team can finally come together. I'm excited to get to work and get to know the new coaches and looking forward to trying to make 2015 a special year."

Some have questioned whether Manning should have elected to retire instead of returning for another season, but Manning appears to still have the competitive fire, and he likely wants to try and change his legacy if he can.

To this point in his career, despite his Super Bowl victory, many view Manning as a playoff choker, and despite his sterling statistical resume, some even suggest that his younger brother is the better player.

By returning to a loaded Denver squad, Manning will have a legitimate chance to win another ring. A second Super Bowl title would pair with his overwhelming statistical dominance to once again thrust him to the forefront of the G.O.A.T. discussion.

In that regard, it is almost a shock that Manning did not take more of a pay cut. He does not need the money, and he most likely wants as much talent as possible around him as he seeks to change the perception of him as a player and leave behind the legacy of a champion.
