Tiger Woods' former instructor Sean Foley spoke favorably about him at the Honda Classic. According to the 40-year-old, Woods has an increased desire to trade time training for time spent with his children.

"Compared to when I started working with him, I'd say he's in a far better place with that," Foley said (via the Toronto Sun). "So my hat's off to him because I think he's seeing things for how they matter, and if that upsets the golf world, then so be it."

Woods admitted he is practicing much less than before to spend more time with his kids, something Foley vehemently defends.

"The golf world doesn't want that," he added. "But he's my friend and to watch him with his kids, he's easily one of the most patient fathers I have ever seen. If you win a tournament, it feels good. But you go home and your kid takes a bee-line at you and jumps in your arms, that just feels better. So I'm sure as we all get older, we all have this kind of discussion with ourselves and I'm sure he's had it."

A sympathetic Foley, one with of a family of his own to tend to, doesn't see himself keeping up with the difficult schedule currently on his plate. For the world-renown instructor, his current crop of pupils will likely be the last under the current format.

"I can always come back to it, but I feel like I'm going to kind of walk into the sunset with Rosey and Hunter," he said. "They have been there for six and seven years and we have a great chemistry, and we've all grown together as people and as family men. The next generation of tour pros that I work with will be basically in Orlando in very structured three-day sessions where I get into their swing and get into where they're at."
