Peyton Manning appears to be coming back for another season with the Denver Broncos, despite rumors swirling earlier this offseason that the legendary quarterback might be calling it a career. But is he making the right decision by playing again? Here are five reasons what Manning should hang 'em up.

1) He already has a Super Bowl ring. Some athletes hang around for an extra year or two to chase a ring, and there is nothing wrong with that for players that have not won a title. But Manning already has that box checked on his Hall of Fame resume.

2) His level of play. Yes, Manning was injured last season, but his level of play dropped precipitously over the entire second half of the year. His return may only serve to provide proof that he can no longer play at the highest level.

3) He does not need the money. Manning has made almost a quarter-billion dollars in his career from salary, and who knows how much more he made in endorsements? The extra millions he will earn in 2015 will hardly matter to him.

4) His reputation. Manning has a reputation as someone that underperforms when it matters. Whether that assessment is fair or accurate is a debate for another day, but another playoff failure would certainly add to it.

5) His health. Manning is still only a few years removed from multiple very serious neck surgeries. He has a physical every offseason to make sure that his neck is stable enough to allow him to play. Even though quarterbacks are protected to absurd degrees in the NFL, one bad or late hit could potentially paralyze Manning. At 39, is it really worth that kind of risk?
