Former TNA wrestler and current Ring of Honor star Jay Lethal had some interesting things to say about CM Punk and his wife AJ Lee.

Lethal, who apparently dated Lee in the past, made reference to Punk now being married to the three-time WWE Divas Champion.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Lethal cut a promo at Ring of Honor's 13th anniversary pay-per-view last weekend and took a dig at the couple.

Prior to his match against former WWE Superstar Alberto "El Patron" Del Rio for the ROH Championship, Lethal grabbed a microphone and said that he wouldn't take hand-me-downs from former ROH stalwarts Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe or CM Punk, but that Punk has taken hand-me-downs from him, in a reference to the "Best in the World" now being married to Lee.

Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 on the day after the Royal Rumble and later noted on his friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast that he left because of frustration with how he was used and the WWE trying to make him work hurt.

Punk especially took aim at WWE doctor Chris Amann for allegedly misdiagnosing a growth on his back and ignoring a concussion Punk told him he received at the Royal Rumble event.

Amann has disputed these allegations and brought a lawsuit against Punk and Cabana for the disparaging comments during the interview. The WWE issued a statement in full support of the suit, but Punk and Cabana have yet to publicly respond.

Meanwhile, Punk was dating Lee at the time of his departure and the two got engaged after the "Best in the World" quit the WWE while Lee remained a member on the active roster.

Lee took time off from the WWE from April-June to move in with Punk in Chicago and the two tied the knot sometime in June. Punk said he received his termination papers from the WWE on the day of their wedding.

Lee turned up on WWE television again in June and wasn't punished creatively for her ties to Punk as she was booked to win the Divas Championship for a third time upon her return.

Lee then dropped the belt to Nikki Bella in December and took some time off to heal injuries. In the interim, Punk signed with UFC and had Lee by his side during his announcement in Las Vegas that he will soon enter the Octagon.

There was said to be some heat on Lee for being at the UFC event and for burying other Divas during her Slammy Award speech in December.

The saga took another crazy turn last week when Lee publicly called out Stephanie McMahon on Twitter for the mistreatment of WWE Divas.

Nevertheless, Lee returned to the WWE this past Monday to help Paige ward off an attack from the Bella Twins and is set to be a key part of the storylines going forward as the company heads into WrestleMania 31.

Punk's first UFC fight is expected to occur later this year and he is currently training hard for it, though it's unknown who his first opponent will be.

Perhaps after his comments, Punk would be interested in facing Lethal in the Octagon.
