Aaron Hernandez, the ex-New England Patriots star tight end who stands accused of orchestrating the murder of Odin Lloyd, and pulling the trigger in his shooting death, will be back in court again today at 9:00 a.m. Follow Day 18 of the court proceedings free here.

Hernandez’s defense attorneys have cited his friendship with Lloyd as a major reason to doubt he is the culprit in Lloyd’s killing, especially coupled with a lack of concrete motive. The prosecution is seeking to capitalize on that theory now, by attempting to bring to light an alleged shooting outside a Miami nightclub.

In that instance, Hernandez stands accused of arguing with a friend inside a car, and then shooting him in the face. Alexander Bradley, currently imprisoned in Connecticut on separate gun charges, said that they argued about a strip club bar tab.

Following that argument, Bradley then asked Hernandez to go back to the strip club where he had left his phone. Hernandez allegedly refused, Bradley made “disrespectful” comments and then this happened.

"Shortly thereafter," Bradley’s filing reads, "the car pulled over in an isolated industrial area, where Bradley was shot between the eyes, the defendant exited the car and quickly dumped Bradley's body on the ground before fleeing the scene."

The prosecution posited in a motion that this proves Hernandez’s alleged friendship with Lloyd wouldn’t be an impediment to violence.

“The defendant is by no means someone who would necessarily refrain from resorting to extreme violence, including homicidal violence, merely because the victim was a friend,” prosecutor William McCauley wrote.
