Ever since LeGarrette Blount walked out on the Pittsburgh Steelers, the franchise has looked for another running back to take off some of the burden of starter Le'Veon Bell.

CBSSports.com is reporting that running back Reggie Bush would be a strong option to back up Bell in Pittsburgh - besides the fact that he spent the end of 2014 playing behind another Bell - Joique -- with the Detroit Lions.

"Bush is the clear-cut favorite if you're signing a guy out of that group," CBSSports.com reported. "He's a little younger (than alternative free-agent running backs DeAngelo Williams or Steven Jackson) with less wear and tear on his tires and is a much more dynamic back, particularly in the passing game. To me he would be a money fit in Pittsburgh as a second option for the Steelers offense to split out of the backfield along with Le'Veon Bell (bonus: if Bell misses time Bush can fill in)."

Bell could miss the first two games of the 2015 season because of a 2014 DUI arrest, according to an ESPN report. The Steelers' starting running back was arrested on Aug. 20 after a motorcycle officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Pittsburgh.cbslocal.com added that Bell entered an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition and received 15 month' probation plus a 60-day suspended license. But the Steelers could have a starting running back that would miss the first two weeks of the season.

Bush could bring a veteran leadership, a resume of two 1,000-yard rushing seasons as a member, and a formidable component in the passing game.

He has yet to play for a home team, however, that plays in the cold weather - New Orleans, Miami and Detroit - and that could become a factor.
