Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the Nashville Predators (41-15-7, 89 points) and New York Rangers (38-17-6, 82 points) face-off for the second and final time this season live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Nashville has lost two straight games and opens up a two-match road trip while New York had a four-game winning streak snapped last time out and returns home prior to a five-match road swing.

The Predators enter tonight with the most points in the NHL and lead the second place St. Louis Blues by four points in the Central Division.

The Rangers are second in the Metropolitan Division, two points behind the New York Islanders (84) and one point clear of the third place Pittsburgh Penguins (81).

The first time these two teams met, Nashville defeated New York 3-2 on Feb. 7.

The Predators are coming off of a 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday and will be looking to snap a rare losing streak.

"It's something you talk about all the time; great teams don't lose two in a row," Predators forward James Neal said per NHL.com. "That's something we put a lot of emphasis on. If we have a bad game we've been really good at bouncing back and obviously we lost a tough one against Detroit in our building and we've been really good at home. It'll be another great test against the Rangers."

Calder Trophy candidate Filip Forsberg has paced Nashville with 21 goals and is tied for the Predators lead with 52 points along with Mike Ribiero (12 tallies, 40 helpers).

The Rangers are coming in off of a 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and enter on the heels of a busy trade deadline that most notably brought in defenseman Keith Yandle, who is set to make his debut.

Yandle had 41 points off of four goals and 37 assists for the Arizona Coyotes and was brought in to boost the Blueshirts' power play.

Rick Nash has been the driving force offensively for New York, leading the team with 58 points and ranking second in the NHL with 37 goals. Derick Brassard has found the back of the net 13 times and added 35 assists to rank second on the Rangers with 48 points.

With Henrik Lundqvist (throat) still out, New York turns to Cam Talbot in net and he is 12-6-3 thus far this season with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.

Nashville is set to counter with Pekka Rinne and he is second in the NHL in wins (35), GAA (2.07) and save percentage (.928).

The Predators and new-look Rangers skate against each other for the final time this season when the puck drops live tonight from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
