According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Punk made an appearance for Challengers Comics in his hometown of Chicago on Saturday and camera crews were following him around while a sign in the crowd read that fans agreed to be a part of the film by being in attendance for the event.
The crew is filming Punk for an upcoming UFC special for Fox Sports 1 that will show him preparing for his first UFC fight and will air in the week leading up to his MMA debut.
Punk is expected to have his first fight later this year, though it's unknown exactly when it will be and who his first opponent will be in the Octagon.
Punk walked out on WWE in January 2014 after being frustrated with his creative use and the WWE always expecting him to work hurt. He walked out after the 2014 Royal Rumble event.
"The Best in the World" then stayed silent for a while before appearing on his friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast and blasting the WWE and its doctor Chris Amann while divulging the reasons why he left.
Punk ripped the WWE for their direction with him among other things while he laid into Amann for misdiagnosing a lump on his back and trying to sweep a concussion he sustained at the Royal Rumble under the rug.
Amann swiftly responded against Punk and Cabana with a defamation lawsuit with the full support of the WWE, but it remains to be seen what will come of it.
Punk also revealed on the podcast that he received his termination papers from the WWE on the day he married WWE Diva AJ Lee.
Lee is on hiatus from the company and she accompanied Punk in December when he announced at UFC 181 in Las Vegas that he signed with the MMA promotion.
Punk's first fight is expected for late 2015 and he has been training hard for it.
Now, WWE and UFC fans will get a chance to take a glimpse of the "Best in the World's" journey to the Octagon in a new documentary.
