AJ Lee very publicly called out Stephanie McMahon on Twitter this week and the WWE was completely blindsided by it while McMahon herself was said to be furious.

McMahon tweeted to thank Patty Arquette for fighting for women's rights and then Lee swooped in and took a dig at her on the social media platform.

"Your female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times, And yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster. #UseYourVoice," Lee tweeted at McMahon.

McMahon simply responded, "I appreciate your opinion."

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the company was completely caught off guard by the tweet and McMahon was angry for being shown up on Twitter and made to look bad by a WWE employee. It appeared as though this could be an angle leading up to a WrestleMania 31 clash, but that doesn't appear to be likely though things could change.

It was reportedly Vince McMahon's idea to have Stephanie respond and thank Lee for her opinion as the chairman was looking ahead to the big picture.

Vince McMahon also tweeted, "We hear you, keep watching" and used the hashtag #UseYourVoice when discussing the Divas.

Lee is expected to return to the WWE soon, but has been on hiatus since December to heal various injuries, including a neck ailment.

Lee is married to CM Punk, who infamously quit the WWE in January 2014 and then signed with UFC this past December. Punk also ripped the WWE on Colt Cabana's podcast and is facing a defamation lawsuit from WWE doctor Chris Amann.

Regarding the #UseYourVoice hashtag that began to trend, WWE Diva Paige spoke to Turnbuckle Weekly's Chuck Carroll about it after Monday Night RAW.

"If we get given the time [on the main roster]... a lot of us could be better than the guys, I feel like, if we get given the time," Paige said. "The guys get all the time to showcase what they can do. So, of course people say, 'the guys are better than the girls.' We do a couple minutes and that's it. We don't really get to showcase what we do... In NXT you do. I feel like a lot of people tune into NXT just to watch the women because they literally kick a--. They have all this time and they're just incredible."

Paige also discussed Lee taking time off, but the interview was conducted before the Twitter incident with Stephanie McMahon.

"She's great," Paige said. "You know, some people just need a break to rest up. It happens to all of us. You get tired or rundown or you just need your body to rest up."

Regarding the Divas, E! Online posted a teaser of this week's Total Divas episode and Daniel Bryan, who is married to Brie Bella, had an interesting exchange with Nikki Bella.

"When I buy certain things," Nikki said. "I do kind of get this rush. But Brie and Bryan just love giving me a hard time because I don't live a frugal lifestyle like them."

"I feel like you're the silliest human I know," Bryan added, catching Nikki off guard.

It's quite an interesting time in the WWE's Diva division, but most of it is coming outside of the ring.
