New England Patriots Tight End Aaron Hernandez Suspect Update: Hernandez Now Reported as Driver of a Vehicle in Which Homicide Victim Was a Passenger Before His Death

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez appears to have direct ties in the homicide investigation of Odin Lloyd, myfoxboston.com reported Wednesday night.

Ted Daniel of Fox 25 News (the parent of the myfoxboston.com website) first tweeted that a law source indicated that Hernandez was the driver of a vehicle in which Lloyd and two other passengers rode on the night that Lloyd was killed.

Daniel sent another tweet moments later, making a more ominous statement:

"LAW SOURCE: 4 men together in vehicle.  Only 3 return to Aaron Hernandez's home. Odin Lloyd NOT one of them."

That prompted the search inside Hernandez' house on Tuesday night, myfoxboston.com reported. The same source also said that Hernandez, Lloyd and two other men were at a bar in Boston on the night of Lloyd's death. Lloyd sent a text message indicating that the four men left together in a car Hernandez was driving.

The report added that later on Wednesday, "at least seven state troopers" conducted a search on both sides of a road near the street where Hernandez resides. The troopers also investigated an industrial park where the body was found and within a neighborhood development called Westwood Estates.

No media entity has confirmed whether Hernandez is an official suspect as of Wednesday night.

According to Sports Illustrated, police questioned Hernandez Monday evening in connection with the death. A 2013 Chevrolet Suburban rented in Hernandez's name was listed as a key piece of evidence in the investigation. The vehicle was registered to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, myfoxboston.com reported.
