Aaron Hernandez, the ex-New England Patriots star tight end who stands accused of orchestrating the murder of Odin Lloyd, and pulling the trigger in his shooting death, will be back in court again today at 9:00 a.m. Follow Day 15 of the court proceedings free here.
The defense of Hernandez took a major hit thanks to testimony from his housekeepers about finding guns in his bedroom on more than one occasion, and placed his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins in a suspicious light.
Jenkins has been accused of disposing of the .45 caliber gun used to kill Lloyd, and she has been seen on tape removing a trash bag with a "rigid box" from the home, then returning without it. Hernandez's maids claimed to have found three separate guns in his bedroom while cleaning, but when his home was thoroughly searched by authorities no guns were turned up.
On June 18 Jenkins' sister Shaneah let Shayanna borrow her car because she said she needed to go to the bank and retrieve money to pay the housekeepers. That was when she was seen on surveillance putting the trash bag in the trunk of the car. Grazielli Silva was able to produce a check for $300 for work that day, casting doubt on Shayanna Jenkins' story.
Jenkins has been charged with perjury for allegedly lying about her knowledge of the murder weapon, and has been granted immunity by the prosecution if she testifies against Hernandez; at this point in time there's no indication she will.
