Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys are having some trouble agreeing to terms on a new contract for the star wide receiver. Bryant is coming off of his best season, and he wants to be compensated like one of the best wideouts in the NFL.

Rumored Video Will Not Prevent Dallas From Using Franchise Tag On Dez Bryant

So far, the negotiations have progressed slowly (or not at all, depending on who you choose to believe), and it is looking inevitable that the team will end up using the franchise tag on Bryant.

The delay could stem from the rumored existence of a video that allegedly shows Bryant doing something really bad, with some insinuating that the video is on equal footing with the Ray Rice elevator video.

'How Could You Let [Jameis Winston] In The Building?'

The video is supposedly common knowledge within NFL circles, but according to Fox Sports, the Cowboys are denying any knowledge of the video. COO Stephen Jones vehemently denied knowing about it, and Jerry Jones chimed in as well, saying, "Right now, as to our basic approach to all of the contracts that we're considering negotiating, off-the-field issues are not a consideration in any situation with any player.''

However, if the Cowboys really do not know about any incriminating video, then it seems odd that the two sides are struggling to reach a deal. Bryant played like a receiver deserving of a $100 million contract, which is something the Cowboys could offer, provided they restructure some existing deals.

Both sides have expressed interest in Bryant being with the team for a long, long time, and neither side seems excited about the prospect of franchising the wideout. Something must be rotten in the city of Dallas, whether over the rumored video or not, because otherwise the words and actions of Bryant and the Cowboys do not add up.
