The Minnesota Vikings still have Adrian Peterson on their roster, and they would undoubtedly benefit from having the star running back on the field once he is reinstated by the NFL. However, it has seemed unlikely for a long time that Peterson will ever take the field for Minnesota again.

According to CBS Sports, the relationship between the two sides may be over. It has been bad for a while now, with Peterson feeling alienated by some of the members of the organization. The team also has to worry about what the fans of the team and around the league will think if they continue to employ a player that was nearly convicted of felony child abuse charges.
This week at the NFL Combine, things apparently boiled over between the two sides. Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, confronted a Vikings employee and made the star running back's feelings very clear.
Per CBS's Jason La Canfora:
"According to the sources, Dogra engaged in a heated exchange with Vikings vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski during which the agent made it clear that Peterson would never play there again. The incident took place during a time when outside parties were in the vicinity. Finally, former Tampa Bay general manager Mark Dominik intervened, separating the men and diffusing the escalating tension, sources said."
Another person who is close to Peterson echoed similar sentiments, saying, "He will never play another game for the Vikings. It's over."
If Peterson is really done with Minnesota, they will likely release him, which would make him a free agent. A number of teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, may be interested in Peterson's services.
