Report: Aaron Hernandez Sued For Separate Shooting In June

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was sued earlier this month in connection with a shooting unrelated to the homicide police are now questioning him about, according to TMZ.

The website reports that a suit was filed in federal court on June 13 and charged that Hernandez shot a man in the face following an altercation outside a Miami strip club. The victim is identified as Alexander S. Bradley, who told authorities he went to the club with Hernandez that night and was attacked by him after the two got into an argument. According to TMZ, the suit has since been dismissed amid speculation the two reached an out-of-court settlement.

TMZ also reports Bradley initially told police that as they left the club that night headed for Palm Beach, the two men got into the same vehicle and over the course of the drive is when Hernandez allegedly shot him. Among his injuries, Bradley claims to have lost the use of his right eye and that he had to undergo major reconstructive surgery on his face.

Reportedly, Bradley also told police that Hernandez was not licensed to carry a firearm.

Earlier this week police searched Hernandez’s Massachusetts home as part of a homicide investigation. ESPN is now reporting police also plan to search a rental car recently registered to Hernandez.

Police have identified the dead man as 27-year-old Oden Lloyd, a semi-pro football player for the Boston Bandits. His body was found just about a mile away from where police conducted their search of Hernandez’s home.
