Byron Jones has a message to NFL scouts and front offices: pass on me in the draft at your own peril.
The UConn Huskies cornerback put on a mind-boggling demonstration of athleticism during Monday’s NFL Combine proceedings, including a broad jump performance that shattered the record books.
Jones got up to 12 feet, three inches in his jump, which is by far the best in combine history. He also had a dazzling 44-inch vertical leap as well.
Jones had 24 tackles and two interceptions for Connecticut between August and October, before sitting out the back half of the season due to injury.
UConn CB Byron Jones, who jumped out of the gym, won’t run the 40 today. Still getting up to speed after surgery (really). Pro Day is 3/31 — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 23, 2015
Byron Jones 12-3 broad jump is ridiculous. By far best ever at the NFL Combine & even bested the old world record: https://t.co/LvGQwmRDbu — Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) February 23, 2015
