The Daytona 500 is almost upon us as NASCAR kicks into high gear, and with that come the gamblers looking to make the action even hotter by throwing some money down. These are the five best wagers for Sunday's big race in terms of value.

Jeff Gordon +1,000: This season will be the legendary Gordon's final campaign with NASCAR, and he fittingly has won the pole for the 2015 Daytona 500. He has won the race three times in his illustrious career, and despite being in first position he's not the favorite to get the W. This may seem like I'm advising you to bet with your heart, but it's more like taking the guy with the best hole cards at the start of a poker hand.

Kyle Larson +3,000: Larson was a frontrunner to take over Chevrolet's No. 24 car next year when Gordon was gone, but instead he was passed over for hotshot Chase Elliot. Larson couldn't break through with any wins last season, but he had eight Top 5 finishes and could announce his arrival as a force on Sunday.

Jamie McMurray +2,000: McMurray isn't a big name, but he's won the Daytona 500 before (2010), and two victories total at Daytona International Speedway.

Tony Stewart +1,500: Stewart has never won the Daytona 500, but in 157 races at Daytona International Speedway he has four victories and eight Top 5 finishes. Last season was such a nightmare for him that getting a fresh start for a new Chase could be the catalyst for a fine campaign.

Joey Logano +1,200: Logano is one of the steadiest drivers in the field. He had five victories last year, 16 Top 5 finishes, and is one of the masters of the new qualifying format. He will begin in fifth position Sunday, and should be considered a favorite.
