The Baltimore Orioles (40-31) and Detroit Tigers (39-29) will face off in a Tuesday night matchup at Comerica Park set for 7:08 p.m. ET. The game will air live on Fox Detroit and will stream on MLB.com with a paid subscription.

Detroit will send out ace Justin Verlander (8-4, 3.41 ERA) to add to their two-game winning streak and their season-high sixth consecutive win at home. Verlander is 8-0 in 12 appearances all-time against the Orioles.

His most recent appearance was a 10-3 win on June 1. Verlander allowed three earned runs off of eight hits in seven innings of work.

After an uncharacteristic start to the season, Verlander has since bounced back beginning with his impressive performance against Baltimore. In an appearance Wednesday against Kansas City, Verlander allowed just three hits off of seven scoreless innings and struck out eight in a no decision effort during Detroit's 3-2 loss.

"For me, it was my best start, just because of the way I've been working to get back where I need to be," Verlander told the team's official website. "I feel like I've been getting better every start. I wasn't exactly where I want to be, but pretty doggone close."

The Orioles have recalled Zach Britton (0-1) from Triple-A Norfolk in replacement for Jason Hammell, who is battling an illness and will be unable to make his assigned start Tuesday. Britton is coming off a six inning performance in which he allowed six earned runs in a losing effort. "

He's still pretty weak, but he's getting better every day," manager Buck Showalter told the team's official website of Hammel. "The good news is we got contingency things in place."
