John Oliver spares nothing and no one when he gets going on a topic.

The comedian and host of HBO's Last Week Tonight has taken on such hard-hitting topics as America's prison system, civil forfeiture laws, police militarization, and the lottery. And now on last night's show he's sunk his teeth into the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine.

The Hottest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models of All Time

In a hilarious segment entitled "How Is This Still A Thing?," the show obliterated the swimsuit magazine on all fronts -- everything from being sexist or culturally insensitive to just irrelevant (the segment's biggest laugh comes from a joke that SI subscribers haven't yet realized that naked or scantily clad women are available for free on the internet).

Still, sex sells. The Swimsuit edition has been around for 51 years and launched the careers of more models than one can count. And it out-sells regular Sports Illustrated copies by a 10-to-1 margin. So even though Last Week Tonight is asking "how is it still a thing," you can probably bet it's going to remain a thing for a long time to come.
