Tracy McGrady Says Jordan Played Against Men, LeBron Boys

Count Tracy McGrady among those seemingly of the opinion the LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan comparisons are dramatically overblown.

“It’s different then it was,” McGrady told USA Today Sports of now and the time when he first entered the league. “When I came in you had men, there’s a lot of boys in this league now.  That’s what I’ve been trying to tell guys when they’ve been asking me about LeBron and Jordan. I’m like, ‘Come on man, y’all can’t be serious.’ This man MJ was playing against grown men out there. There’s a lot of boys in the league right now.”

As the member of the San Antonio Spurs assigned with assuming the role of James in practice during their NBA Finals match against Miami, McGrady has studied every part of the league’s reigning MVP’s game.

“He’s has great IQ for the game and a great eye for picking apart defenses,”McGrady told USA Today of James.  “That’s pretty much what LeBron does and what I was accustomed to doing.”

McGrady isn’t the only former star to recently weigh in on the different eras and conclude the league of yesteryear may have been a little bit more difficult to conquer.

Original Bad Boy Dennis Rodman recently said James would only be a run-of-the-mill star if he played during his time and if Jordan were playing now he would average somewhere around 50 points.
