Allen Iverson Update: Ex Wife Claims Former NBA Star Has Kidnapped Children

Only days after claiming he owes more than $40,000 in back child support, the ex-wife of former NBA star Allen Iverson now claims he has kidnapped their children.

According to TMZ, Tawanna Iverson has filed legal documents alleging Iverson asked for permission to take their five children aged 13 to 16 on a trip to Charlotte N.C. that was scheduled to run from May 22-26. She adds that since then, the children have not been returned to her and she is asking the court for assistance in regaining custody of them.

TMZ also adds that Tawanna Iverson claims she had set up an exchange of the children with her ex scheduled for June 4 at a neutral site, but he never showed up. In her filing, she noted she now believes the kids are being held in a Sheraton Hotel in Georgia and were never taken on a trip to begin with.

TMZ also reports Tawanna Iverson claims she’s concerned for her kid’s welfare because the former NBA MVP is an alcoholic that drinks in front of them. She now wants the court to force him to return the kids, and she wants Iverson thrown in jail.

Tawanna Iverson has also indicated she plans to have her ex jailed for the missed child support payments if he’s unable to make immediate restitution.
