The San Francisco Giants (34-31) and Atlanta Braves (39-27) will open their weekend series at Turner Field with a Friday night matchup set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on MLB Network and will stream on mlb.com with a paid subscription.

The Braves return home after a long West Coast trip to open the three-game series. They took two-of-four from the Dodgers, which followed with a sweep by San Diego. Atlanta now holds an 18-20 road record.

Prevous to this series, they met the Giants in a four-game road trip in San Francisco from May 9-12. The Braves lost the final three games by a combined score of 23-4 after taking the opening game.

It's been a different story for Atlanta at home. The Braves own a 21-7 record at Turner Field and have won 13 of their last 15 games. The Braves currently hold the best home record of any Major League team.

The Giants have also struggled on the road. They enter Friday night's game with a 13-20 road record, the worst of any team with a record above .500. However, they are coming off a 10-0 road win at Pittsburgh in which Matt Cain allowed just two hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Madison Bumgarner (5-4) will get the start for San Francisco. He currently holds a 3.58 ERA and is coming off a winning performance against Arizona in which he went five innings and allowed three earned runs.

Kris Medlen (3-6) will match him for Atlanta. He currently holds a 2.87 ERA and is coming off an impressive 6.2 inning performance in which he allowed no earned runs in a winning effort.
