Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates meet at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday for the final warm up match before the World Cup officially kicks off.

When it comes to international cricket hegemony, these are two squads on the outside looking in. Neither has ever sniffed a legitimate path to a World Cup championship. The Afghanistan team, in fact, is making their first ever appearance on the world stage.

Both teams showed their greenhorn status in their first warm up matches. Afghanistan was no match against India, falling to the Men in Blue by 153 runs; UAE, meanwhile, experienced a lopsided 188-run loss at the hands of host nation Australia.

Even if these two teams have a ways to go before they're considered tournament favorites, there's still plenty of reasons to tune into their matches. Part of the fun of being the upstart is that you can play without pressure or expectations -- like you have nothing to lose.
