He uses whatever information he can to help gain an advantage, and he has been able to construct one of the most efficient offenses in the league, and unlike previous seasons, the team is actually playing pretty good defense this year.

One man who does not share Morey's passion for analytics is Charles Barkley. Barkley is an NBA Hall of Famer, and he currently works as a studio analyst on TNT's Inside the NBA. According to Deadspin, Barkley and the rest of the TNT crew had a discussion about analytics recently, ultimately making some strong statements against the information movement.

Perhaps the most abrasive statement was when Barkley insinuated that analytics were just made up by people that could not get girls growing up.

For his part, Morey vehemently disagrees:

Part of Barkley's job is to spark discussion and debate, but he is also supposed to provide information, and he does the entire league a disservice when he makes inflammatory statements without factual basis.
