New York Post NFL beat writer Bob Hubbuch is reporting that New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft admits Tim Tebow’s “spirituality” was a factor in the team deciding to sign him.
Hubbuch tweeted that Kraft referenced Tebow’s “spirituality” at least three times during an interview where reportedly he also raved “you can’t have enough” Tebow.
The Patriots somewhat shocked NFL Nation this week with news they were inking the out-of-work former Jets quarterback to a two-year deal. Tebow reported for the team’s mini-camp this week where, at best, he expected to rate as the team’s third quarterback behind All-Pro Tom Brady and backup Ryan Mallet.
It’s not the first time Kraft has shown his affinity for his newest player. “He’s great for the NFL,” Kraft told ESPN last year of Tebow after he spoke at one of the team’s Children’s Holiday charitable events. "The kind of young man he is and the values he represents, I think it's terrific."
Hubbuch also tweeted Kraft said Tebow’s long questionable throwing motion “looks pretty good to me” and after insisting he was just “one of 90 on the team” was part of a management decision to designate him as one of the team’s two “stars” for media purposes.
