Bryce Harper is not a professional golfer - which is probably why he produced a "Happy Gilmore" golf swing that went farther than professional golfers were able to accomplish.
CBSSports.com posted an Instagram video of Harper, the Washington Nationals star outfielder, doing a somewhat slower version of the golf swing that Adam Sandler made immortal in the golf movie, "Happy Gilmore."

But the ball went 340 yards, he said on his Instagram post. Here is the link to Harper's Instagram post.
Phil Mickelson shows poor "Happy Gilmore" form in contest at 2013 event in Scotland
That is 12 yards farther than the best of a group of golfers could muster in 2013 at a British Open warmup tournament. A European Tour video that Golf Channel posted on its website showed several professional golfers including Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Shane Lowry mimicking Gilmore's swing at the 2013 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Pro-Am.
Yahoo.com reported that several players agreed to take part in a "Happy Gilmore" drive contest and have it video recorded. Some of the players were Mickelson, Harrington, Lowry, Paul Casey, Paul Lawrie, Thorbjorn Olesen, Alvaro Quiros and Nicolas Colsaerts.
According to Golfnewsnet.com, Harrington managed to drive the ball 328 yards, the farthest among the participants using, the site reads, "the Gilmore Swing, which is just as likely to break your clubhead off as it is to produce good contact. Keeping that in mind, Mickelson turned over a right-handed club to keep his set safe from destruction."
But remember that Gilmore was a hockey player in the movie. So in that regard, it makes sense that a baseball player outdrove the professional golfers using the unique drive technique.
Harper hit 13 home runs and knocked in 32 runs during an injury-plagued 2014. He had 104 strikeouts in 352 at-bats.
