South Africa and Sri Lanka have landed in New Zealand and are making their final preparations for World Cup festitivies that kick off next week.
Before that happens, though, the Proteas and Lions will meet in a quick one-day warm-up match in Christchurch.
If there's a narrative to impose on this showdown, it's the story of two squads trending in opposite directions. The South Africans are coming off a solid showing in a multi-match ODI series with the West Indies.
The Sri Lankans, however, were thoroughly dominated in a seven match ODI series versus the New Zealand national team. They'll need to use today's proceedings to iron out their many kinks before it's too late.
