The potential show-stealer of a match between Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler appears to be in danger for WrestleMania 31.

Following the Royal Rumble, which saw Roman Reigns win the 30-man match from the 19th draw, Bryan and Ziggler -- who the WWE booked in curiously forgettable roles at the event -- campaigned for a match at the "Show of Shows."

Ziggler took to Twitter to comment about how he wanted to face Bryan at the biggest show of 2015 while the WWE even broke the news on WWE.com that they may clash.

It seems, however, that those plans are scrapped.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there are rumors that the match between Bryan and Ziggler has been nixed.

This isn't just because Bryan is set to face Reigns at Fast Lane on Feb. 22 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, but it's also because the WWE has ideas to pair Ziggler with Ryback full-time through WrestleMania.

Bryan is set to battle Reigns to determine who will meet Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

It is said that the Bryan vs. Ziggler match hasn't been nixed due to the WWE planning on having Bryan face Lesnar instead, but likely because of the alternate plans the company has for Ziggler.

As of now, it is still expected that Reigns will meet Lesnar at the "Show of Shows," which runs the risk of the WWE once again alienating Bryan fans and causing them to turn on Reigns by design if he tops "The Beard" at Fast Lane.

Per the report, there is already talk that Ziggler will be in tag team action with Ryback as his partner at WrestleMania 31.

Ryback and Ziggler were in tag team action on this week's SmackDown and defeated Goldust and Stardust and apparently there was a reason for the pairing.

WWE officials are reportedly considering putting the two together as a permanent tag team and having them compete together at WrestleMania.

This will mark yet another example of the WWE ignoring its fans and putting one of their better workers in Ziggler in a wasted match. Ziggler's last four WrestleMania bouts are a mixed tag match, a 12-man tag match, a Tag Team Championships match and a Battle Royal appearance last year.

The Ziggler vs. Bryan promotion got a lot of positive feedback from the WWE Universe on Twitter, so if the WWE opts to not have Bryan face Lesnar, it is likely they'll stick to the original plan despite the rumors.

It's hard to imagine the WWE would rob its fan base of two solid Bryan matches on the same show by opting to put Reigns against Lesnar in the main event and throwing Ziggler into a nothing tag team match, but anything is possible the way things have gone.

Ziggler and Bryan have the potential to steal the show at WrestleMania 31, it's just a question of whether the WWE creative team gives them a chance to.
