Tonight at 9 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings (29-12-9, 67 points) and Colorado Avalanche (22-18-11, 55 points) face-off for the second and final meeting against each other this season live from the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Detroit has won eight of its last 10 games and opens up a three-match road trip while Colorado has won two of its last three games and stops home quickly before embarking on a two-game road trip.

The Red Wings sit at third place in the Atlantic Division and are in a tight race with the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning while Colorado is four points behind the Vancouver Canucks for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

The first time these two teams met, Colorado defeated Detroit 2-1 in a nine-round shootout on Dec. 21.

The Red Wings are coming off of a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Jan. 31 and will look for a second straight victory.

Henrik Zetterberg has paced Detroit with 46 points off of 15 goals and 31 assists thus far this season. Gustav Nyquist has 20 tallies and 18 helpers for 38 points while Tomas Tatar has lit the lamp a team-best 22 times and added 13 assists for 35 points.

The Avalanche are coming in off of a 4-3 victory in the shootout over the Dallas Stars and are looking to extend their winning streak to three games.

Alex Tanguay leads Colorado with 34 points this season off of 13 goals and 21 assists. Jarome Iginla is second on the team with 33 points off of 16 markers and 17 helpers while Matt Duchene is tied for second on the team with 13 goals and has added 18 assists for 31 points.

Colorado is set to turn to Semyon Varlamov in net and he is 14-10-7 with a 2.59 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

Detroit is set to turn to Petr Mrazek and he is 11-4-1 with a 2.66 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

The Avalanche and Red Wings will go head-to-head for the final time this season when the puck drops live tonight from the Pepsi Center in Colorado.
