By now, everyone has heard about what happened in the Super Bowl. The game was thrilling throughout, and the last five minutes were nothing short of spectacular. Oh, and the Seahawks coach made a play call that may or may not have cost his team a championship.

Goal Line Call To Affect Beast Mode's Contract Situation?

After taking a couple of days to recover from the immediate shock of the loss, Pete Carroll finally opened up about his play call decision. He said in the aftermath of the loss that he knew the team would have to pass on one of the downs, and second down seemed less predictable.

Of course, the Patriots were expecting not only a pass play, but the exact play that Seattle ran. They intercepted the pass, won the Super Bowl, and Carroll has been raked over the coals by nearly everyone in the country in the days since it happened.

According to TMZ, Carroll admitted during a Today Show appearance that he cried over the loss, but he also says that he still stands by his decision to call the pass play. The decision has sparked debate as possibly the worst call in Super Bowl history.

"I never make a call thinking it's gonna go bad," Carroll said. "This was properly planned. It just didn't turn out well."

Carroll said that around 4:00 in the morning after the loss, he was overcome with emotion, and that's when he broke down crying about it.

When Today Show host Matt Lauer asked if it was the worst call ever, Carroll replied, "It was the worst result of a call ever. The call woulda been a great one if we caught it."
