On the eve of college football's National Signing Day, superstar rapper Snoop Dogg was one conflicted parent.

Snoop Dogg Really Wants His Son To Be A USC Trojan

His son, wide receiver Cordell Broadus, was one of the top high school recruits in the country. A lifelong USC fan, Snoop told reporters that it would "be a dream come true" for his son to become a Trojan. However, like any good parent, he also conceded that he mostly just wanted his son to feel comfortable and happy with his ultimate decision.

Well, the heart wants what the heart wants, and for Broadus, it wasn't USC.

The four-star recruit revealed Wednesday afternoon that he would be playing at USC's cross-town rival, the UCLA Bruins. Broadus has told reporters in the past that he wants to forge his own path and be known as his own man, rather than just "Snoop Dogg's Son" -- ditching USC might have been a conscious step in that direction.

Did USC's Poor Performance Hurt Their Recruiting Chances?

Moreover, Broadus isn't the first hip-hop offspring to put on the Bruins uniform: Diddy's son Justin Combs is currently a defensive back at UCLA (so much for East Coast/West Coast feuds, huh?).

As for Snoop? He's taking the decision in great stride. Watch his reaction to Cordell's choice below.
