Cristiano Ronaldo by himself is worth the nominal GDP of a small island nation.

That's according to his agent, Jorge Mendes, when he was asked about the hypothetical amount a transfer fee would be for the Portuguese soccer sensation.

“Cristano Ronaldo? One billion. His buyout clause one billion, so it is one billion,” Mendes told BBC Sport. “If, for any reason, the club decide to sell him tomorrow for 300 million, someone will pay.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player ever in the world and the best sportsman ever," Mendes continued. "So you can't compare Cristiano Ronaldo with anyone else. It's impossible to find someone like him."

Keep in mind that $300 million figure is in Euros; Mendes' valuation would come out to $450 million in American dollars.

Sunderland's Jozy Altidore Returning Home to Major League Soccer

Ronaldo's current team, Real Madrid, seems more than content to retain his services for the near future. Still, an amount of money that gargantuan has to have them at least considering the possibility of putting him on the market.

Perhaps Ronaldo's old flame Manchester United might be interested? The 29-year-old called Old Trafford home from 2003 to 2009, and even considered a return to the Premier League club in 2013 before re-upping with Real instead. However, if Man U couldn't land him then at a lesser price tag, it's unlikely they'll shell out the $300 million Mendes is mentioning.
