Tony Stewart Rumors: Driver Selling Skull Shirts In Wake Of Race Track Death [PHOTO]

Tony Stewart had a terrible 2014 both personally and professionally. The season was one of his worst as a driver, and that is before saying anything about the tragic accident during a sprint car race that claimed the life of Kevin Ward Jr.

Stewart Buys Racing Series

Stewart has maintained his passion for sprint car racing, although he maintains that he may never actually drive in any of the races again. He did recently purchase a sprint car racing series so that he can stay involved in the grassroots level of the sport.

During the fateful accident, Ward had exited his car and was walking across the track when Stewart's car struck and killed the young driver. Stewart was determined not to be at fault for the accident during a subsequent investigation, although the incident drastically affected him. He took time away from racing at all levels after the crash, and he avoided the public eye.

Now, according to TMZ, Stewart is selling a new line of shirts in his online store that many would argue are in poor taste in light of the events from last year. The shirts say "Tony Stewart Racing" on them, and below the slogan is a picture of a skull wearing a racing helmet and the words "Race hard" printed beneath it.

While the shirts are undoubtedly meant to project an image of coolness and edginess, given the events of last season, somebody probably should have put their foot down over the design.
