Russell Wilson is turning to baseball to cure his Super Bowl blues.

Wilson, whose Seattle Seahawks failed to win their second straight Super Bowl on Sunday night, will attend spring training as a member of the Texas Rangers this season.

After guiding Seattle to its first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history last year, Wilson and the Seahawks fell to the New England Patriots 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX Sunday night in Arizona after Wilson threw an interception in the end zone at to conclude the game.

Wilson blamed himself for the Super Bowl loss.

''I don't know what I could have done differently,'' Wilson told Fox Sports. ''I put the blame on me. I'm the one that gave him the ball.''

According to MLB.com, Wilson, a two-time Pro Bowler will attend spring training for the Rangers this year as he has done in the past. Texas has yet to comment on the news.

Wilson is a former infielder and he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies out of N.C. State.

Wilson opted to continue his football career and was acquired by the Rangers in the Triple-A Rule 5 draft in 2013.

The quarterback suited up for Texas last year in Surprise, Ariz. as part of spring training.

He will return to Arizona -- a state that will undoubtedly remind him of his Super Bowl loss -- this year with the Rangers.

According to MLB.com, Wilson hit .229 in 315 at-bats in the Rockies system as a minor leaguer and in 2011 with Class A Asheville, he hit just .228 with a .366 on-base percentage while stealing 15 bases in 61 games.

Wilson led the Seahawks to a 12-4 record and their second straight NFC West division crown this season en route to defeating the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers in the playoffs before falling to the Patriots in his second straight Super Bowl.

Now, Wilson will trade in a helmet for a glove and suit up with the Rangers this spring.
