Never let it be said that Colin Kaepernick isn't a good soldier.

While the San Francisco 49ers quarterback is in Phoenix not getting ready for Super Bowl XLIX, he is getting ready for the 2015 season by working out at the ESOX Performance Institute with former MVP quarterback Kurt Warner.

Colin Kaepernick won't need pocket-passing skills in new 49ers offense?

According to 49ers.com, Kaepernick appeared on Fox Sports 1's "America Pregame" show to offer his analysis of the Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

The subject of new head coach Jim Tomsula arose, and Kaepernick did not miss out on the opportunity to give his public stamp of approval.

Kurt Warner impressed with Colin Kaepernick's chalkboard knowledge

"I think Jim Tomsula is going to be a great coach for us," Kaepernick said. "He's a players' coach, and he's always around the guys. He's someone that's willing to listen to what players say and get their take. That's something that will help this team move forward. We have a lot of veteran players who know what they're seeing on the field and know what they're doing."

One of the things Tomsula already has done that should be agreeable with Kaepernick is promoting quarterbacks coach Geep Chryst to offensive coordinator. That gives Kaepernick continuity under former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who Kaepernick has said he owes a great debt of gratitude.

The 49ers also have hired former East Carolina coach Steve Logan, who is already on record as saying he prefers mobility to accuracy, which was Kaepernick's M.O. last season.

It will be interesting to see how the "new and improved" Kaepernick fits in with the offense once the 49ers start their offseason workouts. But how much the offense will change also is up in the air with pieces of last year's staff returning.
