DeMarcus Cousins has been waiting five long years to create this Instagram post.

When Boogie entered the NBA Draft after a stellar freshman season at the University of Kentucky, many scouts and media pundits wondered if Cousins was mature enough to handle playing at the next level.

Questioning a young NBA player's maturity is a little cliché but not entirely unwarranted in this case. And after all, Cousins has had his fair share of minor incidents (technicals, one-game suspension, e.g.) to prove that such concerns about his draft stock weren't unfounded.

One prominent sportswriter, however, took the issue too far. It's one thing to accuse a 19-year-old kid of being a little immature. It's another thing altogether to baselessly accuse him of criminality.

But that's exactly what Clay Travis (now of Fox Sports) did in 2010, tweeting his followers that "There is 100% chance Demarcus Cousins is arrested for something in five years. 100%. Write it in stone."

Spoiler alert: DeMarcus Cousins has not been arrested for anything in the past five years, and he's improved his game (and his temper) in every season he's been in the NBA. Cousins was aware of Travis' original tweet, and in an absolutely baller move, he posted a screenshot of it to his own Instagram with the accompanying caption "Today's the day! Let's all show him some love @ClayTravisBGID."
