If it wasn't made abundantly clear at the 2015 Royal Rumble, the WWE is not looking to push Daniel Bryan to the main event no matter how hard the WWE Universe tries to convince them to.
Bray Wyatt's Cryptic Promo on SmackDown About The Undertaker
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, WWE sources backstage have said that no matter how much he is cheered for, the WWE isn't going to change its plans for WrestleMania 31 and "The Beard" will not be inserted into the main event like last year.
Per the report, top WWE officials have said that no matter how over he gets, he's not seen as a top guy who can be the face of the company.
Hulk Hogan Says He Wants One Final Match At WrestleMania 31
Last year, the WWE booed Batista heavily for winning the 2014 Royal Rumble Match and Rey Mysterio for appearing as the No. 30 entrant due to the fact that it confirmed Bryan wouldn't be in the bout.
Batista eventually won the 30-man bout to big boos while Bryan jobbed to Bray Wyatt in the opening contest.
The WWE ended up flipping the script and having Bryan defeat Triple H in the opening contest of WrestleMania XXX as a way of putting him into the planned Randy Orton vs. Batista main event and making it a Triple Threat.
Bryan then won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before surgery on his neck and subsequent loss of feeling in his right arm caused him to miss the remainder of 2014 and put his career in jeopardy.
Bryan then was cleared to return and entered the Rumble Match, giving the WWE a chance to provide another great Cinderella story by having Bryan take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.
The WWE opted to have Bryan come out at No. 10 and be eliminated 11th, causing the WWE Universe to turn on the match. Roman Reigns won from the No. 19 draw and will face Lesnar at the "Show of Shows."
There was talk that the WWE won't waver on those plans and now that Bryan and Dolph Ziggler have been hinting at a match with each other at WrestleMania 31, there is no chance of Bryan getting put in the main event.
WWE.com even picked up on the two campaigning for a match with each other and there was talk that the two could very well open the biggest show of 2015.
Bryan is going to have a role at WrestleMania 31, but it won't be in the main event again.
