Josh Gordon is finally speaking out about the drug and alcohol problems that have derailed his NFL playing career -- and taking on his critics in the process.

Medium's sports website The Cauldron has published a self-penned op-ed from Gordon, in which the Browns receiver notbly chastises Charles Barkley for remarks he had made earlier this week. Barkley had appeared on ESPN's His and Hers and told host Michael Smith that Gordon was "going to die" if he didn't change his ways soon. Gordon recently failed an NFL test for alcohol and is expected to be suspended for all of 2015.

Charles Barkley Warns Jordon Gordon Of Dangerous Path He's On

"Chuck, you have never so much as shook my hand, let alone exchanged a single word with me," Gordon writes. "You have very little idea what you are talking about."

Gordon is honest in this piece, placing the blame for his latest suspension on solely on himself, apologizing to the city of Cleveland in the process.

However, he is also adamant that he has no drinking problem, insisting that he only had a few drinks on a plane after the season had already ended, when he thought (wrongly) that his probationary period was up. Whether this argument will work in the appeals process is, to Gordon, "a matter for my agent and me to discuss."

Gordon concludes the article by inviting Barkley (and his other harsh critics like Cris Carter and Stephen A. Smith), should they ever cross paths, to "please come on over, shake my hand, and say hello. I won’t be holding a grudge, but I will expect you to admit you were wrong about me."
