Sheamus is expected to return to the WWE as a heel soon and there is a belief that he will battle Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Sheamus was not backstage at the Royal Rumble on Sunday, but he is expected to return soon as a heel.

Sheamus was held off of the Royal Rumble card as a creative decision, similar to Randy Orton.

According to the report, the current plans call for the "Celtic Warrior" to face Bryan at the "Show of Shows." Sheamus was slated to battle Bryan at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans last year, but the company opted to change it around.

After the departure of CM Punk and the fans souring on Batista, the WWE opted to throw Bryan into a match with Triple H and then a Triple Threat bout with Randy Orton and Batista, where he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Sheamus was relegated to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at last year's show.

If the match does happen, this will mark the third time that Bryan and Sheamus square off at WrestleMania.

Sheamus and Bryan fought to a no-contest in 2011 at WrestleMania XXVII in a Lumberjack Match while the "Celtic Warrior" topped "The Beard" in 2012 at WrestleMania XXVIII in an 18-second long match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Sheamus was a babyface when he left the company last month following a beat down from United States Champion Rusev and Mark Henry. It appears his issues with them will be dropped because he is expected to come back as a heel and get involved with Bryan.

The "Celtic Warrior" had surgery for an unknown ailment, which was why the WWE wrote him off.

The WWE Universe was upset with Daniel Bryan being eliminated 11th in the Rumble Match on Sunday, but unlike last year it doesn't seem like the company will waver on its plans for a Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar main event.
