Dwyane Wade Divorce Update: Pat Riley Won't Be Served During Finals

A Chicago judge this week requested that Pat Riley’s deposition in the ongoing Dwyane Wade divorce saga be postponed until at least after the upcoming NBA Finals have concluded.

Though already divorced from Siohvaughn Funches, Wade remains locked in litigation with her stemming from her attempts to be granted more than the $25,000 in monthly support she now receives.

Earlier last week, attorneys for Funches bitterly claimed they had long been trying to serve Riley to testify about Wade’s finances, only to be rebuffed by his team of high-powered lawyers.

“I guess the Heat read your story,” Chris Yeoman, a process server of Gotcha Legal Services told Gossip Extra after the web site broke the story last week. “We figured we’d try it again and we went back to the arena.  This time, their lawyer came out and was very nice and polite, and accepted service for Riley. Everything suddenly became very easy.”

Besides the support he pays, Wade has legal custody of the couple’s two young boys and solely supports them financially.

The Heat begin defense of their NBA title by hosting San Antonio in Game 1 tonight and late last week Yeoman suggested he might seek to serve Riley during the Finals after all his many other attempts had proven futile.
