Tim Tebow: Bill Belichick Does Not Hate Unemployed QB

Whenever the topic of what Tim Tebow's future holds is raised, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots get thrown into the mix, largely because of Belichick's often unorthodox techniques and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' history with Tebow.

McDaniels drafted Tebow 25th overall in 2010 as head coach of the Denver Broncos, and is said to be a fan of Tebow's unique skillset; Belichick, though, is believed to "hate" Tebow. The grumpy New England coach has come out to set the record straight, however, and said he does not hate Tebow, calling those accusations "completely untrue."

Speaking with ESPN Boston, Belichick said, "I wouldn't get into the probability of us pursuing any free agent. Every single player has strengths and weaknesses but regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible. It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported."

It is more likely that Tebow would be eschewed by New England because of Tom Brady than the emotions of Belichick. As one of the premier passers in the league, it only makes sense for a future Hall of Famer like Brady to control the offense at all times as opposed to ceding snaps to a run-first quarterback like Tebow.

Brady has won five Super Bowls, made eight Pro Bowls, and thrown 334 touchdowns to 123 interceptions in his illustrious career, all while completing 63.7 percent of his passes while throwing close to 500 times a season.

Tebow, on the other hand, has only thrown 371 passes in his three NFL seasons, and as a New York Jet last year only attempted eight. He was used as either a running threat out of a read option look, or as a punt protector who occasionally launched a surprise pass.
