Today at 5 p.m. ET, the National Hockey League presents the 60th annual All-Star Game live from the Columbus Blue Jackets home rink of the Nationwide Arena in Columbus. The game can be live streamed for free here.
Captain of the Chicago Blackhawks Jonathan Toews will be the leader of the away team while hometown Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno will captain the home team.
Foligno drafted his teammate Ryan Johansen to his team, so there is no question over who the home team will be behind tonight. Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane and Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty will serve as alternate captains for Team Foligno.
Team Toews' alternate captains include Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf and New York Rangers forward Rick Nash.
Plenty of first-time All-Stars will join the likes of Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin and Tampa Bay Lightning Steven Stamkos under the bright lights of the NHL's All-Star Game as the stars are on full display.
"Luckily I've been in the League long enough that I know a lot of the guys and have friends that seem to be in this every year. It's more fun to be around and what not than following it on TV," first-time all-star forward Bobby Ryan of the Ottawa Senators told NHL.com. "I guess being a rookie in that sense, I'm just trying to soak it all up and enjoy the experience. It's a lot of fun. Whenever you get around a group of guys like this and you get the opportunity to just kind of hang out in the locker room, I think that's what we all look most forward to."
One noteable rookie to keep an eye on is Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg, who came in as an injury replacement and is the only rookie to suit up for the actual game.
The NHL's stars are on full display whent he 2015 All-Star Game emanates live tonight from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
