Tonight at 8:00 p.m. from Glendale, Arizona on ESPN the finest the NFL has to offer, minus any New England Patriots or Seattle Seahawks, will take the field at the University of Phoenix Stadium for the NFL Pro Bowl. Live stream the all-star action free by clicking this link.
This year's Pro Bowl pits teams hand-picked by Hall of Fame wide receivers Michael Irvin and Cris Carter. Irvin was true to his roots, taking Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo with his first pick, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten later in the draft, and nabbing Dallas head coach Jason Garrett to lead the squad.
DeMarco Murray is captaining the squad, and he will have offensive lineman Tyron Smith and Travis Fredericks blocking for him once again. Even current Bronco, but former longtime Cowboys superstar OLB DeMarcus Ware is on Team Irvin.
While the game is loaded with stars on both sides of the ball, fans can expect the game to have a seven-on-seven feel with most guys out there to entertain, but not get injured in the process.
'You've got to respect guys' careers,'' Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly said. ''You can't go out there and try to smoke everyone. You've got to understand guys are here to have fun, but at the same time guys are competitive and that's going to come out. The bottom line is you've just got to respect each other.''
There's also been chatter that players do not love the draft-style format in which the teams are put together now.
''I think there was something about coming out here and saying 'I'm from the AFC and this is my team,''' New York Jets center Nick Mangold said. ''Now that it's not, I'd be the first to say I'm not a fan of how they do it.''
