San Antonio Spurs lost big to Chicago 104-81 on Thursday night, but the team's resident sharp shooter Danny Green was still a winner, thanks to a newly customized pair of shoes he donned for the game.
The league office granted Green permission to don the customized kicks, which were a sartorial tribute to the late SportsCenter anchor, Stuart Scott. Created by the famous shoe designer Jake Danklefs, the shoes featured a small "DG" and "14" on the tongue, and "Stu" and "BOOYAH" near the heel.
Both Green and Scott are graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Tim Frank, Senior VP of Communications for the NBA, said the league had never given Danny anything but full support for the gesture.
"Danny was asked and given permission to wear them for one game. Unlike some reports you might have read, he was never told 'No'," Frank told TMZ Sports.
Stuart Scott passed away on Sunday at the age of 49, after multiple battles with appendiceal cancer. He is roundly considered one of the best and most influential sports broadcasting personalities in the history of the industry.
