The Los Angeles Dodgers (25-32) look to continue their newfound momentum and capture their third straight win as they look to sweep the San Diego Padres (26-32) in their series finale on Wednesday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET and will air live on MLB.com with a paid subscription.

Los Angeles has gained a spark from rookie sensation Yasiel Puig. Puig has provided two very good performances since being called up from the minors and jumping into the Dodgers leadoff position.

The 22-year-old top prospect went 2 for 4 in his major league debut and made a stellar throw from the warning track to double a runner off first base to end Monday's 2-1 victory in his debut. He followed that effort by hitting two homers - a three-run shot in the fifth and a two-run homer the next inning - while also adding a double in Tuesday's 9-7 victory.

"I'm more happy because the team won," Puig said.

Manager Don Mattingly is excited the rookie is providing some pop in the lineup.

"(Monday) was storybook. (Tuesday) you were seeing the power, so it's a big impact," Mattingly said. "We've had a serious lack of power and run production, so it's two things we need."

Los Angeles will send out ace Clayton Kershaw (5-3), who currently holds the MLB's third-best ERA at 1.85. Kershaw is coming off a seven inning performance in which he allowed three earned runs in a no decision.

The Padres look to get back on track with the help of Jason Marquis (6-2). Marquis hasn't lost in seven outings and holds a 3.82 ERA.

Marquis has won five straight starts while posting a 2.27 ERA, though he's struggled while not getting a decision in his last two. He allowed four runs in 3 1/3 innings of a 6-5 loss to Arizona on May 26 before giving up three runs in 5 1/3 frames of San Diego's 4-3 extra inning win over the Blue Jays on Friday.
