The WWE Royal Rumble has had plenty of great moments throughout its 28-year history, but hilarity has also ensued at the event.
Ranking Every Royal Rumble Match Winner Ever From Worst-to-First
The 30-man Rumble Match is known to create stars and memories that last a lifetime, but not everything that happens in the squared circle is serious.
With the 28th annual Royal Rumble event emanating live this Sunday from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Sports World News takes a look back at the 10 funniest moments in Rumble history.
6 Possible Surprise Entrants For 2015 Royal Rumble Match
Honorable Mentions: The King Hides: In 1996, Jerry "The King" Lawler forged a plan to hide under the ring, but he was discovered by eventual winner Shawn Michaels and tossed out. Cleveland Rocks: Drew Carey was placed in the 2001 Rumble Match by Vince McMahon. After the Hardy Boys eliminated themselves, Carey was all alone in the ring as Kane came out. Carey tried to introduce himself and bribe Kane with money, but eventually had to sneak out of the ring by eliminating himself. Punk's Straight Edge Sermon: During the 2010 Rumble Match, CM Punk delivered a promo in between eliminating Superstars from the 30-man Match in an attempt to "save them."
10) A Santino Second: Santino Marella set a futility record in the 2009 Rumble Match by lasting just one second in the bout. Marella joined the fray and was quickly clotheslined out by Kane to set a record that will likely never be broken.
Honorable Mention: The Warlord held the record for 20 years as he was eliminated in two seconds by Hulk Hogan at the 1989 event.
9) Diesel Power: In one of the most shocking surprise entrances of all time, Kevin Nash reprised his role as "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel in the 2011 Royal Rumble Match at No. 32. The look on Kofi Kingston's face when the music goes off is priceless.
8) Hide the Coconuts: Legendary rivals Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper made surprising entrances into the 2008 Rumble Match at No. 18 and 19 respectively and renewed their lifelong feud. The clash was short-lived, however as Kane tossed both men out of the ring.
7) 90 Seconds of Basic Thuganomics: In 2003, then-young up-and-comer John Cena came out as the No. 22 entrant and dropped a rap that lasted the whole 90-second interval until Charlie Haas came out at No. 22. Cena certainly showed "Vinnie Mac" he had ruthless aggression on the microphone that night.
6) There's a Hurricane Coming Through: In the 2002 Rumble, legendary Superstars Triple H and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin were duking it out when The Hurricane came in at No. 23. The Superhero attempted to double chokeslam them both until they looked at him and realized who he was, unceremoniously tossing him from the match.
5) Dance, Dance Rumbleloution: During the 2000 Rumble Match, there was a part in the contest where it boiled down to Rikishi and Grand Master Sexay. The big guy, who already tossed four other entrants, went to attack his tag team partner when fellow running buddy Scotty 2 Hotty came out at No. 6 to talk him out of it. Scotty put the yellow sunglasses on Rikishi and the trio danced right in the middle of the Rumble Match. It didn't last long, as Rikishi ended up eliminating his two partners.
Honorable Mention: Kaientai wasn't allowed into the 30-man match, so the duo constantly interfered throughout it. Taka fell on his face during one of the eliminations, leaving Funaki to run in by himself the rest of the night.
4) Three Faces of Foley: Mick Foley marks the only man to ever appear in a Rumble Match three times as he entered the 1998 battle as Cactus Jack (#1), Mankind (#16) and Dude Love (#28). Unfortunately for Foley, he was eliminated all three times.
3) A Westside Rumble, Hassan Gets Ousted: The 2005 Rumble Match was in the heart of the RAW vs. SmackDown brand extension era. During the Rumble Match, there was a portion where four RAW guys and four SmackDown Superstars were in and they divided the ring into a battle field to go with that year's Westside Story theme. The only thing that could unite them was the entrance of controversial Superstar Muhammad Hassan, who was ganged up on and eliminated by all eight athletes.
Honorable Mention: Eddie Guerrero stealing Ric Flair's number.
2) Bushwhacker In, Bushwhacker Out: In a bit of hilarity, Bushwhacker Luke entered the Rumble Match with his signature Bushwhacker march to the ring, subsequently walked across the ring, was tossed by Earthquake, and continued unfettered in the same Bushwhacker walk. His time in the Rumble Match lasted all of four seconds.
1) Being Fair to Flair, Bobby Heenan's Brilliance: Ric Flair's 1992 Rumble Match win is arguably the greatest of all-time, but it was made even better by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's commentary throughout the bout. Heenan was off-the-wall and over-the-top in his rooting of Flair and it was made even better when he lost it at seeing Flair coming out as the No. 3 entrant.
Flair going the distance gave Heenan a chance to bust out hilarious line after hilarious line. Heenan also was in all of his glory upon seeing Flair win the match and the WWE Championship.
One of Heenan's greatest lines came when "Rowdy" Roddy Piper first entered the match and seemed to help Flair. Heenan, who always ripped Piper's kilt by calling it a skirt, opted to change his opinion on Piper after seeing him help Flair. After Piper then turned on Flair, Heenan totally changed his tune.
"You no-good creep! You skirt-wearing freak! It's not a kilt, it's a skirt!" Heenan yelled in a classic moment.
