Minnesota Cheerleader Charged With Prostituting Young Girl

A Minneapolis high school cheerleader has been charged with prostituting a younger student by setting up a Backpage.com ad for her and even driving her to some of her engagements.

Montia Marie Parker, 18, is now accused of felony sex trafficking and promoting prostitution in the ongoing probe and is scheduled to return to court on June 12.

According to Yahoo!, in one instance Parker is accused of driving the girl to the apartment of a man she had oral sex with, then pocketing the $60 given to her. The very next day, authorities allege, she again drove the girl to the home of a purported client, but left after the girl refused to go through with the deal.

The Minnesota Star Tribune reports police were notified of what was going on after the girl’s mother read text messages on her phone between her and Parker. The paper also reported the girl had recently told friends she was trying to make some money.

Police added Parker sent the girl a Facebook message and text message telling her how she could make money having sex. She then requested that the girl send her a photo she used to set up the Backpage.com advertisement.

“You’ll be fine… and eventually you will need to have sex,” The Star Tribune reported Parker once told the girl after pretending to be her mother and having her excused from school early

Minneapolis Lt. Kim Lund, president of the Minnesota Juvenile Officers' Association, told Yahoo! authorities have noticed more cases within the last five years involving teen girls using Backpage.com. Still, Lund noted it’s bizarre to have a case involving one teen prostituting another.

Police maintain Parker has since admitted to her transgressions and is now free on $50,000 bond.
