After missing the majority of 2014 following major neck surgery, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has plenty of goals for 2015.

Bryan spoke with Fansided.com and said that one of his plans for 2015 is to make SmackDown better by bringing back the King of the Ring tournament.

The WWE ran the King of the Ring tournament annually from 1993-2002 on pay-per-view and have done it on separate occasions since then, but it hasn't been put on since 2010.

"I would like to have the King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown," Bryan told the site.

"The King of the Ring tournament is something that the WWE used to do on a usual basis, and they've gotten away from it. One, I love tournaments. Two, I think if you do the tournament exclusively on SmackDown the fans will get really excited about it and they'll get geared up for it. Then crowning a King of the Ring champion on SmackDown, I think that would be awesome. That's one of the many ideas I have for SmackDown in 2015."

Bryan had a great start to 2014, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, but his title reign was derailed after it was discovered he needed neck surgery in mid-May.

After the initial procedure, Bryan lost feeling in his right arm and it was uncertain if he'd need a second surgery or if his career may be over. Bryan then revealed his arm got better and he was able to return to action last week on SmackDown.

Bryan, who is in the 30-man Royal Rumble Match this Sunday in Philadelphia, is hopeful to win the contest and go on to WrestleMania 31 to once again face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the main event. "The Beard" said he has high hopes for 2015.

"I have a lot of hopes and goals for 2015, one of which [has a lot to do with SmackDown]. With SmackDown coming to Thursday and with me coming back, I would like to be the main guy on SmackDown and have SmackDown start beating RAW in the ratings," Bryan said. "That's really what I want. I've been very open about that with management, and told them, 'let me be the face of SmackDown, give me the opportunity to show what I can do and by the end of the year SmackDown will be getting just as many viewers as RAW if not more.'"

Bryan was forced to forfeit his WWE Championship due to the neck injury, so he never actually lost the belt by being pinned in the ring. There were rumors of a Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar program leading into SummerSlam last year until the neck injury caused the WWE to change up its plans.

Bryan has been adamant that he wants to face Lesnar and he told CraveOnline.com in a separate interview that he still wants a bout with "The Beast."

"I want Brock Lesnar," he told the site. "It's funny. Ever since I got my surgery and even before that, if somebody said, 'Hey, who would you want to wrestle if you were to main event at WrestleMania 31?' I've always said 'I want to wrestle Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.' That is my dream match for WrestleMania 31 and it's because Brock is the ultimate monster. He's legitimately a beast and I'm the ultimate underdog. I think it would be a great story but I also, think it would probably be the most physical match you've seen in WWE history. We could do something special and something great. That's the match I want and I think it's the match the fans want to."

One thing's for certain, 2015 is fixing to be a big year for Bryan now that he is healthy enough to compete.
