Iroquois, John Henry Yacht: Red Sox Owner Boat Scene Of Suicide?

Rumors abounded when police and emergency personnel were seen around the Iroquois, Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC owner John Henry's yacht. Reports have now surfaced that one of the boat's crewmembers committed suicide on the Iroquois.

The body of a man, believed to be between 28 and 30 years old, was found on the boat while it was docked at Rowe's Wharf, near Boston's financial district. Responding police officers and firemen found the man in cardiac arrest, and were unable to save his life. No official cause of death has been released, nor has it been made clear who discovered the man's body.

The Red Sox released a statement saying, "Mr. Henry and the members of the Boston Red Sox are saddened by the news and send deepest condolences to his family."

Henry's boat was up for sale in 2011; the asking price was $28 million. According to the listing, the yacht was built by Feadship, a Dutch manufacturer, runs on Twin Caterpillar Diesel engines, has five cabins and can comfortably hold 10 guests. The yacht also has a sun deck and a Jacuzzi.

Henry has owned the Red Sox since 2002, and became a principal owner of the Liverpool soccer club in 2010. He also has a 50 percent stake in Jack Roush's Roush Fenway Racing stock car team.
